Meeting in Berkeley, Calif.,
January 28-30, 2004, the Stated Clerk
Review and Nomination Committee developed a process for
receiving and processing applications from other persons who
are applicants for the position of Stated Clerk of the General
Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), as the General
Assembly Standing Rules require. The committee has announced
its intention to nominate the incumbent,
the Rev. Dr. Clifton Kirkpatrick, to a third four-year term.
In accordance with Standing Rule G-1c(l)(h), any other potential
candidates will complete and submit an application form, which

The completed application, accompanied by at least three and
no more than five letters of reference or recommendation, must
be submitted to the committee (c/o Rev. Runyeon) no later than
120 days (February 27, 2004) before the opening of the 216th
General Assembly (June 26, 2004). The committee will do further
reference checks for each applicant and will notify him or her
about next steps and information needed as provided for in Standing
Rule G-1c(1)(j) & (k). |
