Frequently Asked Questions
This compilation of some of the more common
questions and answers from assembly participants is offered
to help you finalize your plans.
I need to change or cancel my Assembly hotel
reservation. Should I call the hotel?
No - contact the G.A. Meeting Service at (888)
728-7228, ext. 2417, or by email at gameetingservice@ctr.pcusa.org.
You are likely to reach voice mail; please leave a detailed
message about the change you need to have made. If you are canceling
your hotel reservation, specify whether you will not be attending
the assembly at all, or whether you have made other housing
arrangements.
I want to move to a closer/cheaper/different
assembly hotel.
The closest and the least expensive hotels
were the first to be filled and there are waiting lists for
any available rooms at those and all the downtown properties.
What is the telephone number or address of my
hotel? What services and amenities does my hotel offer?
See the page, "How
to reach someone at the Assembly" for the hotel phone
numbers. Please contact your hotel directly if you need more
information about their services.
I want to order tickets/more tickets to assembly
functions.
The deadline for advance ticket sales was
June 4. Orders cannot be accepted now.
Tickets to some events will be available on
site, at Registration and Ticket Sales in the Registration Lobby
of the convention center. It will open at 8 a.m. on Friday,
June 25; there is no waiting list for on-site sales.
I want to cancel tickets I ordered to assembly
functions.
Tickets are nonrefundable unless an event
is cancelled.
I need to change my airline ticket.
If you made your reservation through Carlson
Wagonlit, the assembly travel agency, call (800) 634-5656 between
the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays (EDT), or (800) 626-2717
with after hours emergencies. If you made your reservations
with another agency or directly with the airline, contact them.
Most airlines charge fees for changing a reservation;
even for commissioners and advisory delegates this is normally
not reimbursable unless the assembly required this change.
How do I get from the airport to my hotel?
See the page "Getting
around Richmond" for information on ground transportation
from the Richmond airport.
What about ground transportation in Richmond?
Assembly shuttles will operate between the
Convention Center and all the assembly hotels except the Marriott
(across the street). The shuttles will drop off at the John
Marshall (2 blocks away) at night but will not pick up there
in the morning.
The shuttles will operate all day, starting
early enough for optional breakfast events, etc., and continuing
until at least 30 minutes following recess in the evening. Service
will be frequent service in the morning and evening, and on
a regular off-peak schedule in the middle of the day.
This service will start on Friday, June 25;
the schedule will be available at the assembly hotels and in
your registration packet.
What about food and restaurants?
Most of the assembly hotels have full service
restaurants; a few offer complimentary continental breakfast.
A café and other concessions are located
in the convention center; a food court and other restaurants
are nearby.
What is there to do in Richmond?
Check www.RichmondVA.org
for information on attractions in and around Richmond. On site,
the Committee on Local Arrangements will staff an Information
Center in the Registration Lobby of the convention center with
information on attractions, restaurants, etc.
